I’m a big fan of Bosch Power Tools. Over the last several years Ive worked on a a variety of projects with the global tool giant including print, merchandising, and promotions. Bosch Power Tools was having an upcoming media event and needed a new and unique approach to promotional product giveaways. I was presented with the task of putting their logo on bamboo-handle hammers.
The original hammer handle…
Without much thought, I cut directly into the handle without considering the curvature of the handle. Not a good idea…
So I decided to mill out a flat spot on the handle…
…and then cut the logo
I adjusted my jig assembly for the hammer and milled the flat spot to taper upwards towards the head.
I eventually realized that the hammer handles were not identical. Each one needed to be adjusted….
